White people, you will fuck up. Not some of you. Not just “the stupid ones.” All of you either have already or will fuck up. Repeatedly. And in a big way.

You’ll either get too comfortable and start thinking you’re anything more than an ally, or you’ll hear something you don’t want to hear and act like an asshat, or a combination of the two, or something completely different. You will then say or do some racist shit and you will be called out for it.

This is where shit gets serious.

You will be judged hard as fuck on your response to being called out. On whether you take it like a grown up, apologize for your bullshit and learn from it or act like a child and cry about it.

Allyship isn’t supposed to be fun and easy. It’s supposed to take constant work, constant checking yourself, your privilege and the way you act around, speak to and support POC.

This is not just to the random white people that follow me. This is also to the ones I love, the ones I talk to and joke with every day. YOU WILL FUCK UP. YOU WILL BE CALLED OUT. Just make sure you know what to do when it happens.
