THE USUAL

So I went to this incredibly straight and stuffy bar last night for my friend’s bday. Of course I was dressed up and made up to the maxxx, which felt wonderful and very validating because I haven’t gotten dressed up in so long. But naturally, I had a slew of creepy interactions with the other patrons there.

One girl came up to me in the middle of me talking to friends and just said “let me look at you”, shoved her face right up to mine, grabbed my wig and said “you are so pretty” and then very awkwardly kissed me on the face. Well intentioned, but do not ever touch my wig and do not ever kiss me without my permission, thanks.

I was using the women’s restroom all night and every time I did, it was some big ordeal. Men and women outside laughing and saying “IT went into the GIRL’S ROOM!” Pablo called one older woman out who was talking shit while waiting for me to come out and he said that she was being incredibly transphobic. She said “what does that mean? I mean I think I know what that means but I’m pretty sure that’s not what I’m doing.” Every time I saw her after that, I would just point my finger at her until she walked away. Most of the women in the restroom were very sweet to me and complimented my shoes and makeup, but quite a few were made extremely uncomfortable by my presence. Believe me girls, the feeling is mutual, just let me piss. Every time I came out of the restroom, a different group of men was always there saying shit to me as I walked out. I would just death stare them straight in the face in silence until they creeped away.

A lot of people were asking me “OH MY GOD can I have my picture taken with you?” I would ask where the pictures were going to be put. On Facebook? So you can make fun of me with your friends later? No thanks. It got so bad that I started telling people “If you want a picture taken with me, you have to pay me money or buy me a drink.” Not one person obliged, and that was fine with me. Go the fuck away.

Men grabbing my wig, touching me, calling me “it”, laughing maliciously at me, generally mocking me all night.
