I think believing that terrorism has to have some sort of ideological motive apart from “I just want to get famous by indiscriminately killing a bunch of people in a public place” is a sneaky way to try and stop white people from ever being labeled as terrorists. White people who commit acts of terrorism will quickly be labeled by the media as “having no connections with terrorism” and they will be painstakingly psychoanalyzed and have their “compelling minds” dissected to the point of absurdity by the media and by creepy douchebag individuals who have a disgusting fetish for and fixation on white murderers because they “just find them so fascinating.” White terrorists and murders have fucking fanbases and people actually say shit like “but he’s still cute.” Are you fucking kidding me with this kind of shit? And btw Charles Manson is a fucking boring douchebag. Get over it. Not interesting whatsoever. Bye. Whereas any brown person who does anything similar will instantly be labelled a terrorist by the media before any questions have even been asked. Who cares? They’re brown. Obviously a terrorist. No analysis of the facts needed here. But let’s fetishize and worship James Holmes and Jeffrey Dahmer and Charles Manson and John Wayne Gacy because white terrorists and white men who fuck people and children and then kill them and even fuck the people after they’ve killed them or who lead bullshit dumbass cults and convince other white people to ruthlessly torture and murder people are just “totally endlessly fascinating.” OMFG no, stop. Long story short: I am not convinced that terrorism has to be ideologically motivated and if you believe that it does have to be, then you are probably white.
