viceprincipalpanch asked: if you don't mind me asking, how do you feel about "faux queens"-- women who have drag queen personas? i'm a femme queer ciswoman, and the exaggeration of traditional "femininity" that comes with being a drag queen has always fascinated me, and i've always sort of wanted to try it. your recent post about drag made me think about it again.
(p[.]s. helen bach is actually a fantastic drag name, just thought i would mention that! <3)
It’s interesting that you ask, because even though I don’t really know much about faux queens, I have been thinking about them quite a bit lately. Personally, I love anyone who decides to get dressed up like crazy, do wicked makeup and create a character as a way of expressing themselves. And cis gay men who are drag queens have been stealing from and exaggerating women since time immemorial so why shouldn’t women steal back from them? I think its fun. I think you should have done it five minutes ago! I think everyone should do drag, all the time.
And thanks for the compliment. I always wonder if people actually get my name. (hell-and-back.) It’s from an ADULT. song called (not surprisingly) Helen Bach.
